Zagori

Zagori is one of Greece’s most remarkable cultural landscapes, where traditional stone villages, dramatic mountain scenery, and centuries of history have evolved in concert. Nestled in the mountains of Epirus in northwestern Greece, the region is renowned for its exceptional natural beauty, distinctive architecture, and enduring cultural heritage. Recognized as a UNESCO Cultural Landscape, Zagori is also part of the Vikos–Aoos UNESCO Global Geopark and includes extensive areas protected by the NATURA 2000 network. Stone bridges, ancient footpaths, dense forests, and the spectacular Vikos Gorge—one of the world’s deepest canyons—create a landscape shaped by both nature and human history. Situated in the heart of the region, Kato Pedina offers an ideal base for exploring the Zagorochoria while maintaining the tranquility and authentic character of a traditional mountain village.
